Bushland Beauty

The beautiful bushland setting provided the inspiration for this home’s interiors.

The brief was an emphasis on natural, organic textures and a warm colour palette derived from nature.

We reconfigured the layout of the original plans to future proof the home, designed the kitchen, bathrooms and laundry and specified all interior and exterior finishes.

The mix of materials gives this home a beautiful soul and ensures it sits seamlessly into the location.

Home By The Sea

Our Sydney-based clients engaged our services to help them create their south coast holiday home.
YBH were brought on board to help them create a relaxed and welcoming holiday home that wasn’t predictable or too perfect.

We refined the home’s layout to suit this family’s lifestyle and were responsible for every interior detail including flooring, wall finishes, the custom kitchen, bespoke bathrooms and all joinery. YBH also specified all the furnishings, art and décor and provided project management throughout the construction phase. The end result is beautifully layered and cohesive holiday home that is warm, welcoming and perfectly imperfect.

Classic & Compact

This 1920s classic home in a heritage protected street is a stone’s throw from Manly Beach. The YBH team designed a new light filled rear addition to create a seamless flow to outdoor living and managed the process through Manly Council. We then specified all finishes including the flooring, outdoor tiles and colours, custom kitchen, bathroom, integrated laundry and lighting.
We project managed through the construction phase to completion and are now working on another property for this client.

The result here is a charming home that seamlessly blends the original heritage details with the more contemporary addition. The mix of materials gives this home a beautiful soul.

Colourful Apartment Living

For a family living overseas, this project was completely managed by YBH to deliver a fully finished premium apartment on the beachfront. Originally dark and closed off spaces were opened up and transformed into a light-filled home with three bedrooms, four bathrooms, a media room, gym and study. The eye-catching kitchen and bar form the centrepiece of the new large open-plan living space.

YBH were charged with selecting all furniture and décor, introducing the builder and managing through to completion. The palette is directly inspired by the oceanfront location, but in a refreshingly original way. The result is a home full of energy and vibrancy perfectly suited for this active family.

Mid Century Modern

These homeowners turned to YBH to design the plans for a major overhaul of their 1950s brick home. Their love of mid-century design was instrumental in the design of the façade and interiors.
YBH completed the architectural plans, managed the Council process and worked on the interior design closely with the homeowners, also providing project management throughout the build.
Custom joinery detail and the use of Australian hardwood timbers provide a uniqueness throughout the home.

The beautiful pale palette has provided the perfect base for our client’s collection of vintage furniture, art and lighting.

Charming Cottage

After years of considering different options, these homeowners turned to YBH to adapt their cottage on the Northern Beaches to better accommodate their family of five. We were responsible for the building plans, managing Council approval, introducing the builder, detailing all interiors and managing the construction phase. A reconfiguration of the interior created a direct flow to the pool and beautiful rear yard, and a modest extension has provided a new master bedroom and ensuite. The previously flat ceilings were lifted to create dramatic vaulted ceilings in the living area.

The brief was to bring in the relaxed Byron Bay aesthetic feel that the homeowners love – so the interiors present a layering of fresh whites, soft colours inspired by the nearby ocean, and an abundance of warm natural textures.

Coastal Calm

Our client purchased an unrenovated three level home to provide multi-generational accommodation for herself, her adult children and their families. We designed and managed a full renovation of the interiors to provide spaces for the family to be together and also quiet spaces for retreating.

We created new bedroom and bathroom spaces on each level and a main kitchen that was flexible enough to suit one person or cater for entertaining. Durable finishes and a calming pale colour palette provided a beautiful base for the homeowner to layer her own furnishings and personal items.

Restoring A Classic

Based overseas our clients asked us to renovate their Sydney home before their return to Australia – ready to accommodate their young family. Previously dark spaces were lightened by installing new windows, new light fixtures and updating the interior finishes – including new timber floors and custom designed joinery.

The exteriors were refreshed and made more functional with a new paved area off the playroom, a more welcoming entrance and an outdoor kitchen and entertaining area. In the rear yard new retaining walls were created to provide a level grassed area for play. YBH introduced the builder and managed the full process so the home was beautifully finished for our clients’ arrival.

Touches Of 50s Retro

With a love of mid-century modern design, and a great passion for baking, our clients were happy for the kitchen to become the hub of the home. Custom storage is plentiful in the new design and there are considered spots to display sentimental pieces. A greatly improved indoor outdoor flow works well for this young family.

The homeowner’s love of yellow inspired the playful pop of colour in the children’s bathroom. The vibrant front door and letterbox are a beautiful contrast to the striking basalt cladding and the warmth of the original bricks.
