Charming Cottage

After years of considering different options, these homeowners turned to YBH to adapt their cottage on the Northern Beaches to better accommodate their family of five.

We were responsible for the building plans, managing Council approval, introducing the builder, detailing all interiors and managing the construction phase. A reconfiguration of the interior created a direct flow to the pool and beautiful rear yard, and a modest extension has provided a new master bedroom and ensuite. The previously flat ceilings were lifted to create dramatic vaulted ceilings in the living area.

The brief was to bring in the relaxed Byron Bay aesthetic feel that the homeowners love – so the interiors present a layering of fresh whites, soft colours inspired by the nearby ocean, and an abundance of warm natural textures.
